The new academic year at Christ the King International School commenced with great solemnity and joy as the entire school community gathered on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, to celebrate the Reopening School Mass. The Holy Mass was particularly significant this year, as it was presided over by Rev. Fr. Michael Owusu Amponsah, an alumnus of the school who was only recently ordained into the priesthood.
Fr. Michael’s presence was a profound reminder of the nurturing environment the school provides—not only for academic growth but also for spiritual formation. In his homily, he encouraged the learners to embrace the new term with discipline, faith, and a commitment to excellence. He also emphasized the importance of prayer and character as guiding lights in their educational journey.
Adding to the grace of the celebration was the presence of the School’s Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Gerald Owusu Amankwatia, who concelebrated the Mass. Together, both priests led the school in offering thanksgiving to God for the gift of a new term, as well as in seeking His guidance and blessings for staff, students, and parents throughout the academic year.
The Mass was marked by spirited hymns, heartfelt prayers, and the active participation of both staff and students. It served not only as a spiritual foundation for the term but also as a unifying moment for the entire school community.
As a Catholic institution, Christ the King International School continues to uphold its tradition of beginning each academic year by entrusting every activity to God’s providence. This Reopening Mass was yet another testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing learners who are intellectually competent, morally upright, and spiritually grounded.
The school congratulates Rev. Fr. Michael Owusu Amponsah on his ordination and expresses gratitude for his inspiring return to his alma mater to lead such a memorable celebration.
We pray for a fruitful and successful academic year, under God’s guidance and protection.
